Why donate? We appreciate any donations you can make, in the spirit of the smoke of the cigar that wafts across continents, cultures and races to unify and celebrate our common humanity sin fronteras. Give what you can, in the spirit of fellowship with our neighbors in Cuba...in the spirit of the indigenous people, the Taino and Siboney...for the love and lore of the Cuban cigar. On a practical level, your donation will help fund the completion of SMOKESCREEN, A Cuban Mystery the film. Your tax-deductible contribution is most welcome and will be mutually beneficial. SMOKESCREEN, A Cuban Mystery is a timely flm that will be distributed domestically and internationally, building awareness and supporting freedom of choice for those who enjoy a good cigar--even for those who don't. On a compassionate level, the people of Cuba want to engage in free trade with the United States. There are too many invisible walls separating us, including the prohibition of selling Cuban cigars in the United States. We believe SMOKESCREEN, A Cuban Mystery will evoke a world beyond political boundaries, showing ordinary Cuban people working, struggling, living. Positive social change may be nurtured as the American viewing public benefits from this information. My attitude has changed positively as a result of my travels to encompass a deeper compassion for the Cuban diaspora. I want to share this experience with others through this film, which lovingly portrays the art and customs of the cigar with its roots in native Indian rituals and its links to the interconnectedness of all life. You'll enjoy the story of Julio who leaves Cuba by raft after 21 attempts and succeeds in recreating his family traditions "one cigar at a time" with "Handmade by Cuban" smokes in New York City. How to donate? All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
